Le Futur Proche

Le futur proche is used to express an intention to do something in the near future by doing an action that they will produce, it uses the verb “aller” in the present and an infinitive.

FUTUR PROCHE Aller + infinitive

Example: Je vais manger – I am going to eat.

Sentences – using ER, IR and RE verbs

ER verbs

Je vais acheter du lait.

Nous allons jouer au foot. 

IR verbs

Il va finir ses devoirs bientôt. 

Elle va venir après l’école. 

RE verbs

La prochaine semaine, tu vas être à Paris 

Elles vont prendre le bus pour rentrer.

ER verbs

I’m going to buy some milk. 

We are going to play soccer.

IR verbs

They (fem.) are going to take the bus to go home.
