Lyrics: La Pluie
French | English |
---|---|
Le ciel est gris la pluie s’invite comme par surprise | The sky is gray the rain invites itself as if by surprise |
elle est chez nous et comme un rite qui nous enlise | she is with us and like a rite that bogs us |
les parapluies s’ouvrent en cadence | the umbrellas open in time |
comme une danse, | like a dance, |
les gouttes tombent en abondance | drops fall in abundance |
sur douce France. | on sweet France. |
Tombe tombe tombe la pluie | Falls falls falls the rain |
en ce jour de dimanche de décembre | on this Sunday day in December |
à l’ombre des parapluies | in the shade of umbrellas |
les passants se pressent pressent pressent sans attendre | passers-by hurry hurry hurry hurry |
On l’aime parfois elle hausse la voix elle nous bouscule | We love her sometimes she raises her voice she jostles us |
elle ne donne plus de ses nouvelles en canicule | she no longer gives her news in a heat wave |
puis elle revient comme un besoin par affection | then she comes back as a need out of affection |
et elle nous chante sa grande chanson | and she sings us her great song |
l’inondation | flooding |
Tombe tombe tombe la pluie | Falls falls falls the rain |
en ce jour de dimanche de décembre, | on this Sunday day in December, |
à l’ombre des parapluies | in the shade of umbrellas |
les passants se pressent, pressent, pressent sans attendre | passers-by hurry, hurry, hurry without waiting |
Tombe tombe tombe la pluie | Falls falls falls the rain |
en ce jour de dimanche de décembre | on this Sunday day in December |
à l’ombre des parapluies | in the shade of umbrellas |
les passants se pressent pressent pressent sans attendre | passers-by hurry hurry hurry hurry |
et tombe et tombe et tombe, tombe | and fall and fall and fall, fall |
et tombe et tombe et tombe… | and fall and fall and fall … |
