Dans le bureau de Barbe bleue, la jeune épouse a eu terriblement peur quand elle a vu les corps des femmes mortes.

In Bluebeard’s office, the young wife was terribly frightened when she saw the bodies of the dead women.

Alors elle a fermé la porte du bureau et elle est remontée à sa chambre. Mais elle a remarqué qu’il y avait du sang sur la clef du bureau. So she closed the office door and she went back to his room. But she noticed that there was blood on the key of the office.
Malgré ses efforts, elle n’a pas pu nettoyer le sang de la clé. Ce soir-là, Barbe bleue est rentré de voyage. Despite her efforts, she could not clean the blood of the key. That night, Bluebeard returned from the trip.
Il était d’abord content de revoir sa jeune épouse mais il a vu qu’elle semblait bien nerveuse. Barbe bleue a demandé à son épouse si tout allait bien et elle a répondu avec hésitation que oui. Puis elle a confessé qu’elle a perdu la clé. At first he was happy to see his young wife, but he saw that she seemed nervous. Bluebeard asked his wife if all was well and she answered hesitantly that yes. Then she confessed that she lost the key.
Barbe bleue s’est fâché et a menacé son épouse. Elle a demandé pardon, mais Barbe bleue est resté froid face à sa pauvre épouse. Il a dit qu’elle devait mourir demain pour son crime. Blue beard got angry and threatened his wife. She asked for forgiveness, but Bluebeard remained cold against his poor wife. He said that she must die tomorrow for her crime.
La pauvre jeune femme est allée voir sa sœur Anne. Elle a imploré Anne de chercher ses frères pour l’aider. Et puis elle est montée dans la plus haute tour pour voir approcher ses frères. The poor young woman went to see her sister Anne. She implored Anne to look for her brothers to help her. And then she climbed into the tallest tower to see his brothers approaching.
