In this post we offer you TCF Expression Écrite test 1, so you can prepare for the written part of the test. 

Task 1 (Tâche 1):

Write a message to describe, narrate and/or explain, addressed to one or more recipients, whose status has been specified.

Number of words expected: Minimum 60 words/maximum 120 words

Task 2 (Tâche 2):

Write an article, letter, note, etc. to multiple recipients to report an experience or a story. Reports and narratives will be accompanied by comments, opinions, or arguments, based on a purpose (e.g., advocacy, reconciliation, etc.). 

Number of words expected: Minimum 120 words/maximum 150 words

VIDEO 2: Expression Écrite tâche 2

Task 3 (Tâche 3):

Write a text (for a newspaper, a website, a colleague, a superior, etc.) that compares two points of view on a social issue (part 1), expressed in two short and simple documents of about 90 words each. The candidate takes a position on the theme treated in the two documents (Part 2).

Number of words expected: Minimum 120 words/maximum 180 words. That is, between 40 and 60 words for the first part of the task and between 80 and 120 words for the second part of the task.

How long does it take you to prepare and to pass the test?

It depends from where you are starting and how many hours you are planning to study per week and also what do you want to achieve. (CLB 5, CLB 7)

Here some escenarios for CLB 5:

Escenario A:
If you are starting from 0 and you are planning to study 10-12 hrs a week you will need about 8 to 10 months.

Escenario B:
You are also starting from scratch but you can  study more time  15-20 hrs a week, It will take less time. That is around 5 to 7 months.

Escenario C:
If you have some knowledge of French ( let’s say DELF A1 level or NCLC level 3) You will need between 3 to 5 months to Achieve CLB 5. ( If you study 15-20 hrs a week)
